South Sudanese and Ugandan Immigrants in the US
Written by Beau Chiasson
Teens at the Door is excited to be working alongside Head of Programs Walter Odong at the Women Relief Aid NGO (WRA) based in South Sudan. After reaching out to me through our website, Walter and I met on zoom and discussed the what life is like for women in South Sudan and Uganda, how women are drawn to the United States to escape a culture of gender based violence against women and the ways that Teens at the Door can help. Our aim is to connect WRA with the affiliated refugee organizations with which we have relationships and WRA will help us locate South Sudanese and Ugandan refugees in the states with whom we can connect with. That chapter will hopefully be starting within the year!
