Commemorating World Refugee Day

June 20, 2023 is World Refugee Day, and people from all over the world gather in their cities to recognize and stand together in support of refugees fleeing their homes, be it due to war, political strife, or climate. World Refugee Day is a day for all of us to reflect on what the lives of refugees are like and how we can support them in their journeys—what are the big and small things we can do in our daily lives to make the lives of refugees even a little bit easier. You can donate to local refugee organizations (such as IILA, or the IRC), volunteer in your community, or write letters to your elected representatives. There are many ways that you can engage yourself in the work of supporting refugees. At Teens at the Door, we are continuing to do that work ourselves, not only today, but every day.
